Scientige Signs MOU with USM on sains@usm
Scientige
Sdn. Bhd. (Scientige) and University Sains Malaysia (USM) has
established a collaboration to develop Science and Arts Innovation
Space (sains@usm)
at Bukit Jambul through the signing of a Memorandum of
Understanding on 22 June 2008. Scientige’s main role for this
RM450 million centre which will be ready in 2014 is to provide
consultation in engineering, property development and construction
expertise as well as project financing role for the sains@usm
project.
According
to Arifin Marzuki, MD/CEO of Scientige Sdn. Bhd., “…we are
working together on exploring opportunities and establishing a
cooperative relationship which would benefit both the parties.
sains@usm will be the new landmark that will provide a space that
will not just become a place for research and development but also
a place that will attract tourist and a public park”.
During
the official launching at Dewan Budaya USM, Professor Tan Sri Dato’
Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Vice Chancellor of USM said “…sains@usm
will not only represent the ideal space for academia and
businesses to thrive, it will also reach out to communities near
and far in a truly comprehensive and holistic manner”.

was launched by the university’s Chancellor, Raja of Perlis
Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syen Putra Jamalullail.
Also present were his consort Tuanku Fauziah Tengku Abdul
Rashid, Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas and his wife
Toh Puan Majimor Shariff.
